Alicia you are correct. Many business owners don't understand the danger they are putting their businesses in by misclassifying workers. All it takes is one person to “blow the whistle” and they can be put out of business.

This article really provides alot of clarity since this situation hits home to me personally (I am one being misclassified). I did not realize that this is a common problem and I personally feel that most employers are doing this to avoid paying payroll taxes to the IRS.
